Disclaimers

Manaaki is not a registered financial adviser, tax agent, BAS agent, or credit assistance provider. In the app's own words, used on the surfaces themselves:

• “Manaaki is not a registered tax agent. Information for your records. Confirm with a registered tax agent before you lodge.”
• “Manaaki is not a credit assistance provider. We do not recommend lenders, products, or refinancing actions.”
• “Projection only. Based on the inputs you've selected. Not advice.”

Every number-bearing surface in Manaaki is classified into one of four tiers, and the app only operates at the bottom two:

• Tier 0 — calculators. Pure maths on your own inputs. “At 7% p.a. this $200 a week becomes $14,500 in 12 months.” Always framed as a projection, always naming the inputs used.
• Tier 1 — benchmarks. Your numbers beside a published figure with the source named — an ATO contribution cap, an APRA median. Never a competitor product, never a recommendation.
• Tier 2 — reviewed templates. Anything carrying an implied action ships only as wording a human has reviewed, on surfaces you've opted into. The AI never writes at this tier.
• Tiers 3 and 4 — personal advice. Recommendations that depend on your circumstances. Manaaki does not make them at all. That is what registered professionals are for, and the app says so whenever a question crosses into their territory.

The advisor answers from your own data and is capped at tiers 0 and 1. Every response passes an output classifier before you see it; anything that reads as a product pick, a tax ruling, or credit assistance is blocked and replaced with a hand-off to the right registered professional — tax agent, financial adviser, or mortgage broker, depending on the question.

The exact disclaimer wording used across the app is kept in one place in the codebase, with a tier and a last-reviewed date on every entry. A stale disclaimer is treated as a bug, not a surprise.
